Chelsie’s Book

This is the altered book I made for our daughter, Chelsie Jo.  It is made from a children’s board book that I altered by recovering the pages.  I enjoy using an eclectic mix of embellishments—from Scrabble tiles to sequin, old keys to curling wire--whatever fits with the theme.
The red stick-figure paper was from the first and last pages of an old children’s book.  I didn’t have an “L” scrabble tile, but I did have an antique key.  Worked for me!

Chels’ favorite colors are teals and browns so I tried to incorporate them throughout using red as accents.

This Parisian-themed page was also from an old children’s book.  I like the simplicity of the sign on the right, “I like your face”.

Of course I had to make a page that included her little sis who adores her.  I made a little pocket to slip a couple of pics in.  These two girls love watching the old movie ‘White Christmas’ and especially enjoy the song ‘Sisters, Sisters’.

This page is appropriately in the middle of the book.  It is a reminder of Jesus’ love for her.  Steady and constant.

I had to include a page for her ‘bestest parents in the whole best world’ as well!

A fun family shot, and a funky shot of our legs.

I ended with more ‘sister’ pics.  Chels loves music and has a beautiful voice so a couple of musical notes were appropriate.
This quote states:  Keep trying, Be believing, Be happy, Don’t get discouraged, Things will work out.
I added a cute iridescent flower vase along with wire ‘flowers’ I salvaged from a discarded greeting card and a shabbied-up metal ‘Faith’ sticker.

Chels loved her book.  Now I need to start on one for her little sister.
And I’m off!
